Contract talk has been a major topic around Liverpool this season.
The Reds have made an incredible start to life under Arne Slot with the Merseyside club currently top of the Premier League by six points while reaching the final of the Carabao Cup and the Last 16 of the Champions League.

Despite this, the futures of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah continue to create headlines as neither of the trio have put pen to paper on new deals.
Real Madrid are showing strong interest in Alexander-Arnold and many Liverpool fans fear they will lose the full-back at the end of the season.
Away from the players out of contract in 2025, there is uncertainty around the futures of other stars in Slot’s squad.
Darwin Nunez was linked to Saudi Arabia in January and the Uruguayan may be followed out of the exit door by one of his closest friends on Merseyside.

Liverpool not expected to offer Luis Diaz a new contract
Luis Diaz has been a key player for Liverpool ever since joining from Porto as part of a £49m deal and also for Slot this season due to his versatility, with the Colombian starting the campaign on the left before being moved into a more central position.
The 28-year-old has produced 12 goals and three assists across 33 games for the Reds but given his age and contract situation, the winger could leave Anfield at the end of the season.
Speaking to Anfield Index, Liverpool journalist David Lynch has admitted that the Merseyside club will not offer Diaz a new deal amid interest in the Colombia international from abroad, which does not paint a positive picture for his future.
“He’s coming up to that point where he’s two years out from the end of his contract,” Lynch said. “There’s big interest in him from clubs in Spain, and you’re in that realm of possibility. Liverpool are not at the point where they’re trying to ship him out, but his future is very much in doubt.
“I don’t necessarily expect that Liverpool will offer him a new contract, and with strong interest from La Liga and Saudi clubs, I wouldn’t be shocked if he moves on.”
Barcelona have shown interest in Diaz as the Catalan club are known to be big admirers of the 28-year-old.
Diaz has previously stated his goals for Liverpool ahead of the 2025/26 campaign but it remains to be seen if the winger will be at Anfield, which is the same situation Darwin Nunez finds himself in.

Darwin Nunez looks set to leave Liverpool this summer
This season has been a struggle for Nunez, although the Uruguayan star’s performances have picked up in recent weeks.
Despite this, Nunez looks set to leave Liverpool at the end of the season, with several clubs expected to show interest in the striker.
This is a belief David Lynch shares with the Liverpool journalist expecting the Reds to bring in a nice amount of money for the 25-year-old.
“I expect that will happen, that Nunez will go this summer,” Lynch said. “There was big interest in him in January, particularly from Saudi clubs.
“Liverpool didn’t want to sell mid-season because he has a role to play, but it’s quite clear it hasn’t worked out as well as everyone hoped.
“He’s probably worth quite a bit of money, and if Liverpool can get back a chunk of what they paid, I think there’s a willingness from his side to go as well, to be a starting number nine somewhere.”
A lot is happening at Liverpool at present heading into the summer transfer window but that will not affect the squad as Slot’s men continue to push for the Premier League title.
