Liverpool named Slot as Klopp’s successor after a successful three-year spell as the manager of Feyenoord. The Dutchman led the Reds to the Premier League title in 2024/25 during his first season in charge.
Things took a turn for the worse the following year, and despite navigating the club brilliantly through the tragic death of Diogo Jota, a fifth-place finish and disquiet from supporters about his style of play saw Slot sacked in May 2026.
