Liverpool will soon know the make-up of their squad for the first half of the season.
The Reds’ group could change a little over the next handful of days, as the transfer window draws to a close.
There could be new arrivals. Liverpool are readying a bid for Federico Chiesa and hopefully working on one or two more things besides.
But while the incoming business will be what draws the attention, there could also be some notable outgoings at Anfield.
With just about every member of the Liverpool squad still in a ‘getting to know you’ phase with Arne Slot, even those who stay beyond Friday’s deadline may not have much of a future left at the club.

Joe Gomez eyeing January exit
For now, it still seems unlikely that any big names will depart Liverpool in the next three days.
There will be some players departing, but they mainly seem to academy starlets or those on the very fringes of the team.
Tyler Morton is in talks with Bayer Leverkusen in what looks like an excellent move for the 21-year-old. Meanwhile Stefan Bajcetic is set for a loan to RB Salzburg and Chiesa’s arrival could lead to an exit for Ben Doak.
In terms of the first-team itself, the player closest to leaving this summer has always felt like being Joe Gomez. However, as we exclusively reported on Tuesday, Gomez is set to stay at Liverpool.

That is news that TalkSPORT corroborate, claiming that it is now ‘unlikely’ that the 27-year-old moves on.
Despite that, it does look as though Gomez could be on borrowed time at Anfield.
The defender was said to be ‘considering his options’ this summer and even if he remains beyond the end of the summer, that will reportedly remain the case into the season.
It’s claimed that Gomez is planning to ‘re-evaluate’ his options come the January transfer window and could push for a move depending on his level of game time between now and then.
Liverpool must look for Joe Gomez replacement
Even if Gomez does not leave Liverpool in the next few days – and it now appears that he won’t – the Reds have got to make sure they bring in a replacement.
It’s clear that whether it’s now or in the near future, Gomez is going to move on.
Unless something drastic happens and he’s able to convince Slot that he should be a regular starter, the England international will go.
As a result, Liverpool should not be waiting around to bring in a new player. There is still time to do business this summer and a Gomez succession plan should be put in place.
Liverpool previously agreed a £45m fee for Gomez with Newcastle. Using that money as a guideline, they can still bring in his eventual replacement ahead of time.
