Liverpool fans are going to have to get used to seeing Jurgen Klopp linked with all kinds of vacant managerial positions.

Klopp’s seat in the dugout at Anfield may still be warm, but the German is already being spoken about in regards to different jobs.

Despite the fact that Klopp left Liverpool citing a lack of energy barely two months ago, his ‘availability’ has already led to one job offer, and the possibility of another.

Klopp turned down the chance to managed the USA, something no one should have been surprised about.

However, with England manager Gareth Southgate walking away from the Three Lions after eight years on Tuesday, another, much bigger role needs to be filled. Klopp is the name on everyone’s lips.

What could England look like under Jurgen Klopp?

Jamie Carragher doesn’t think England should hire Klopp but it seems that just about every fan of the national team would like to see it happen.

Others that may be wishing for the 57-year-old’s appointment may be certain players. One who might not be so keen is current goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.

Pickford was public enemy number one for the red half of Merseyside in 2020 when his reckless challenge put Virgil van Dijk out for the season. Klopp won’t have forgotten that and will prefer his ‘keeper to be better with the ball, too. Good news for Aaron Ramsdale.

The player who could arguably benefit the most from this scenario is Trent Alexander-Arnold. Southgate has been slammed for his use of Trent and rightly so. Klopp would play him where he always did: at right-back.

It’s perhaps too simple to say that Jurgen would favour those he knows from Liverpool, but the boss knows how good those lads are.

As a result, we think he’d promote Jarell Quansah to be a starting centre-back. Liverpool staff think Quansah and Jarrad Branthwaite would be a top partnership and we’d suspect Jurgen may feel the same.

Left-back was a point of contention throughout the recent Euros, with Southgate’s use of Kieran Trippier a major concern.

Klopp has form in picking a right-footer on the left though, and we see no reason why Joe Gomez wouldn’t be in line to be Jurgen’s man.

Who else would be in the team?

Throughout his time at Liverpool, Klopp became well-known for his 4-3-3 pressing system. Fabinho was often the sitter in the midfield three and in Declan Rice, the boss would have a good man for that job.

Either side of him we’d suggest that Jurgen might actually do something a little unpopular. Jordan Henderson was key to everything Liverpool won under Klopp and in Conor Gallagher, England have a regen of the former captain.

With Rice sitting and Gallagher doing the dirty work, we think Curtis Jones would come in to add a sprinkling of magic.

Ahead of that sturdy looking three, Jude Bellingham could drop deep and do the ‘Bobby Firmino role’ of false nine. Klopp loves Bellingham and Real Madrid have gotten more out of him playing further up the pitch.

In Sadio Mane’s left-sided position would come the pace and goal threat of Anthony Gordon, with Klopp favourite Jarrod Bowen doing the same from the right. Oh, and don’t forget the customary Harvey Elliott super-sub appearance!

Some big names missing, but just watch how Jurgen would gel them together.
