Goalkeeper – Adrain

Nothing short of spectacular since he has arrived, Adrian returns in goal after Caoimhin Kelleher deputised between the sticks in the League Cup.

Right-back – Trent Alexander-Arnold

The young scouse defender will be in high spirits after scoring a beauty in the win at Chelsea last weekend.

Centre-back – Joel Matip

Liverpool’s second centre back finally earned the praise he deserves after a MOTM performance at Stamford Bridge

Centre-back – Virgil Van Dijk

The Dutch defender is the heart of Liverpool’s defence. Rested in midweek he’ll return to the side at Bramall Lane.

Left-back – Andy Robertson

Andy Robertson rebounded from criticism to look great in defence and attack at Chelsea. The Scottish full back provided an assist for Liverpool’s second goal.

Centre Midfield – Fabinho

A constant in middle of the park for the Reds. Fabinho has earned praise for his world class displays which make him one of the best holding midfielders in Football.

Centre Midfield – Jordan Henderson

The England international will retake the captain’s armband from James Milner and continue his leadership role in the Liverpool midfield.

Centre Midfield – Gini Wijnaldum

Liverpool just don’t look the same when Gini doesn’t play. He brings an energy to midfield that allows the Reds to turn defence into attack.

Left Wing – Sadio Mane

Sadio Mane has four goals and one assist in the Premier League already. He failed to get in on the goals at Chelsea, expect him to put that right at Sheffield United.

Right Wing – Mo Salah

The Egyptian king has been directly involved in seven Liverpool Premier League goals this season in just six games.

Striker – Roberto Firmino

Bobby Firmino is finally getting the recognition he deserves. Liverpool’s best player this season, he scored the winner with a towering header at Chelsea last Sunday.
