Transfer deadline day is upon us, and it’s been quite a busy day for Liverpool’s academy and for two players in particular.

Jayden Danns is set to join Sunderland on loan after a month of constant links to Championship clubs, whilst Kaide Gordon has agreed to sign for Portsmouth on a temporary transfer having returned from Norwich City.

With Danns making Liverpool history last week, the 19-year-old striker’s future is of great interest to Anfield supporters, especially ahead of the forward moving to Sunderland, who in recent years have had a phenomenal record at developing young players in the English second-tier.

Yet Liverpool have taken it upon themselves to award the striker ahead of his loan switch to Sunderland, a move that could take Danns‘ development to new levels if he can impress with the Black Cats.

Jayden Danns to sign new Liverpool contract ahead of Sunderland loan

According to the Athletic, Danns will put pen to paper on a new Liverpool contract ahead of signing for Sunderland on loan, with the Reds keen to keep hold of one of their star talents despite the striker signing a new deal recently.

With Robbie Fowler impressed with Danns’ attacking abilities, the Reds could have a potential attacking superstar on their hands if the teenager takes to playing for Sunderland as quickly as possible, with the Black Cats in contention for Premier League promotion.

Indeed, Liverpool have seen great success with loan players out to the Championship this season with Ben Doak thriving at Middlesbrough under Michael Carrick, where the winger has since become a full Scotland international.

And for Danns, the striker will want to make sure he has a similar impact at Sunderland, with the striker finally set for his first regular stint in senior football having impressed with his limited opportunities at Liverpool in the last 18 months.

Danns could become Liverpool’s long-term answer at no. 9

With Darwin Nunez linked with a move away from Liverpool, there’s a real chance that Danns could one day become the main man to lead the Reds’ frontline, with the 19-year-old striker set for big things at Anfield in the future.

Indeed, Slot is clearly a fan of Danns and is eager to see the striker develop into something special with the forward now set to join Sunderland on loan, a move that could push the teenager to the next level in the next few months.

And with so much turnaround expected in the Liverpool attack, Danns has all the potential in the world to become the next superstar striker for the Reds, with the youngster showing promising signs already in his career.
