Liverpool’s plans are slowly starting to take shape as we edge closer to the January transfer window.
The Reds under a quiet summer under Arne Slot, but that is unlikely to be the case in the upcoming transfer window as the squad still has some holes to fill.
As Trent Alexander-Arnold’s future hangs in the balance, Liverpool have been linked with a move for Jeremie Frimpong, who has been a central figure for Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen’s side.
And now, if reports from Germany are to be believed, the Reds have changed their stance on the Dutch international.
Jeremie Frimpong doesn’t suit Arne Slot’s style at Liverpool

Frimpong is a household name in world football due to his exploits with the Bundesliga side over the past 18 months as he played a key role in Leverkusen’s historic double-winning side last season.
The electric defender showed his class at both ends of the pitch as he defended resolutely and also notched up a staggering tally of 14 goals and 12 assists, which are numbers unheard of for a full-back.
Liverpool invited Frimpong’s agents to Anfield for the Reds’ UEFA Champions League clash against Leverkusen last month, which was an indication that they held him in high regard, especially with the player available for a transfer at £33m.
However, according to Florian Plettenberg, the Dutchman is not a hot topic at Anfield currently as Slot prefers a traditional right back in a flat back-four.
As good as Frimpong is, his best football has come as a right wing-back in a 3-4-3 formation, a role he played against the Reds in Europe earlier this season.
Liverpool’s priority will be to renew Alexander-Arnold’s deal

Right now, Liverpool already have Alexander-Arnold at the club, who is widely regarded as one of the most unique players in world football for what he offers at both ends of the pitch.
Real Madrid are interested in signing Alexander-Arnold on a free transfer, but Liverpool haven’t given up hope of tying him down to a new deal, with the England international believed to be in talks with the club privately.
The Reds also have Conor Bradley at the club, so if Alexander-Arnold were to leave, Liverpool wouldn’t have to look too far for his replacement.
