Liverpool have some work to do in the transfer market as they aim to address some key areas in 2025.
The Reds didn’t really do enough in 2024, signing only Federico Chiesa to immediately add to the squad.
With the threat of potential exits for Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah also still lingering, Liverpool may need to do plenty of business.
Rousing The Kop understands that talks are ongoing with all three players and there remains hope that each will remain at Anfield.
However, if they do not, replacements will have to be sought for the Liverpool squad.
In terms of a successor for Alexander-Arnold, Jeremie Frimpong has already had plenty of traction as a potential candidate. And according to journalist Christian Falk, things may have taken a step forward.

Jeremie Frimpong’s agent invited to Anfield
There have been claims over the last few weeks that Frimpong has already agreed to join Liverpool at the end of the season.
The Bayer Leverkusen player has been one of the standout right-sided defenders in Europe over the past year.
And writing in his Fact Files column, Falk claims that talks are certainly taking place between Frimpong and Liverpool.
“Liverpool’s interest in Jeremie Frimpong has been confirmed again,” he says.

“I heard that his agent, Dirk Hebel, was invited by Liverpool for the match against Bayer Leverkusen. He was in the director’s box.
“So, you see the club and the player’s entourage are talking. Frimpong has a release clause valued at €40m [£33m] and he’s also Dutch like their new head coach, Arne Slot. So, they’re working on this deal as well.”
Frimpong impresses at Anfield
Supposedly in front of his agent – and certainly before Arne Slot – Frimpong caught the eye against Liverpool in November.
The 24-year-old stuck a good effort past Caoimhin Kelleher but was denied a Kop end goal after an accidental handball. If it was an audition for Frimpong, then it was a very good one indeed.
One thing that may appeal to Liverpool about Frimpong is that he should not necessarily need to settle in back in England.
The former Man City academy prospect moved to England from the Netherlands when he just seven, staying in Britain right up until leaving Celtic aged 20 in 2021.
As a result, there should be little acclimatising needing to be done for Frimpong. It may be bad news for those wanting Alexander-Arnold to stay, but this one looks like it could happen.
