Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold had another night to remember for England in their 3-1 win over Finland.
Arne Slot has labelled Alexander-Arnold ‘special’, with the Liverpool manager having relied heavily on the right-back so far this season.
The academy graduate has been impressive at both ends of the pitch, helping the Reds to the top of the Premier League table.
Anfield icon Alexander-Arnold is also enjoying a stunning run with England, playing a key role in their current Nations League campaign.
Interestingly, Three Lions interim manager Lee Carsley opted to play the defender at left-back against Finland on Sunday.

English media deliver verdict on Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold
And the full-back certainly didn’t disappoint, with his highlight coming via a superb free-kick in the 74th minute.
English national media have been having their say on his overall performance, with the Express handing him an 8/10 rating, commenting: “The latest experiment from Carsley to try and fix England’s left-back problem. Looked comfortable enough and popped up with a stunning free-kick strike to put the game to bed.”
The Standard concurred with an 8/10, writing: “Saw plenty of the ball as he drifted into midfield from an unusual left-back position. One of England’s better players on the night, capping off a bright performance with a stunning free-kick.”
The Independent meanwhile handed Alexander-Arnold a 7/10 rating, saying: “Enjoyed a good night even before his stunning free-kick to double England’s lead.
“Starting at left-back for the first time in his career, Alexander-Arnold saw a lot of the ball and dictated England’s play from the left channel. Clicked well with [Jude] Bellingham, [Jack] Grealish and [Angel] Gomes and the set-piece was a reminder of his quality.”
And Alexander-Arnold stood out more than any other Three Lions player in terms of the official Man of the Match award, which once again went his way, as per England on X.
