Liverpool could sell one of their prized assets in the summer transfer window as their asking price looks like being met.

Arne Slot has yet to make any signings as Liverpool manager, with the Anfield faithful undoubtedly becoming more and more frustrated.

Liverpool have set a deadline for Martin Zubimendi to move to Merseyside, with the Reds chasing the Real Sociedad midfielder.

He is likely to be Slot’s first signing at Anfield if the deal gets over the line, but at this moment in time nothing is certain.

Zubimendi would bolster the club’s midfield options, which would be a wise move given Slot’s ambitions on Merseyside.

Liverpool receive another offer for Bobby Clark

But his signature could coincide with the loss of one of the club’s top talents, with The Times reporting that Liverpool are considering a third Red Bull Salzburg bid for Bobby Clark.

The publication noted that the offer from RB Salzburg, who are managed by former Anfield assistant Pep Lijnders, is closer to Liverpool’s asking price of £10million.

Jurgen Klopp tipped Clark to shine under Slot, while former Anfield player Joe Cole called Clark ‘fantastic’.

Arne Slot and Pep Lijnders risk Liverpool fan anger

Lijnders is ‘pushing hard’ to sign Clark, who has made 14 senior appearances in his brief Reds career so far.

Fans admired Lijnders and respected his role alongside Klopp for many years, but many will be angry if he now chooses to take a rising star with him.

Slot will also anger Liverpool fans if he allows a promising talent like Clark to leave on a permanent deal this summer.

The youngster is not likely to start many Premier League or Champions League matches should he stay at Anfield, but starts would likely arrive in the other competitions.

Clark is only 19, but has also shown plenty of promise on Merseyside, with the midfielder only going to get better as the years go on.
