Arne Slot has won over many Liverpool fans amid a strong pre-season, but he is in danger of upsetting the Anfield faithful.

Every Liverpool player is confident under Slot, who guided the Reds to three wins out of three on their pre-season tour of the USA.

Slot used the USA tour to assess his squad, having failed to sign any new players in the summer transfer window thus far.

Much of the focus in the window has been on outgoings, with a handful of youngsters being moved on, either permanently or on loan.

Lewis Koumas has signed a new Liverpool deal and joined Stoke City on a temporary basis, with others certain to follow and head out on loan.

Pep Lijnders wants Bobby Clark at RB Salzburg

Keeping the likes of potential future stars such as Koumas would be wise from Slot, who mustn’t change too much at Anfield given the success enjoyed by Jurgen Klopp.

The new manager is certain to anger a lot of fans should any exciting young players be moved on permanently, which could be the case with Bobby Clark.

Klopp said Clark can shine under Slot, but the 19-year-old may not get the chance, with Pep Lijnders wanting Clark at RB Salzburg.

The former Liverpool assistant is now in the main role at the Austrian club, with Lijnders wanting to sign the midfielder permanently.

Will Liverpool allow Bobby Clark to leave?

Given Liverpool’s likelihood of signing a new midfielder this summer to join their already-packed midfield, moving Clark on wouldn’t be the worst idea.

But Slot should only be sanctioning a loan move if that is the case, with the teenager definitely having the potential to shine at Liverpool in the coming years.

He has already impressed during his brief spell in the senior side so far, scoring once from his 14 appearances.

Clark already boasts Premier League and Europa League experience, while he also played a key role in last season’s memorable League Cup final win over Chelsea.

Should a permanent exit to RB Salzburg take place, Liverpool fans won’t just be angry with Slot, but they will also be disappointed with Lijnders’ decision to steal one of their star youngsters, with Joe Cole labelling Clark ‘fantastic’.
