The Merseyside natives are returning to America for the first time since 2019 following back-to-back tours in the Far East. Liverpool met Borussia Dortmund, Sevilla and Sporting CP the last time they flew across the Atlantic. While Premier League squads await the Reds in 2024.
Liverpool sought to hold their 2024 pre-season tour in America as the US is a key market for the Reds. America is home to 67 official supporter clubs, along with international academies in 12 states. The US is also now Liverpool’s number-one international merchandising market.
Friendlies in the Far East were the underpinnings of Liverpool’s recent pre-season tours. The Reds also staged fixtures in Germany before they played Leicester City and Bayern Munich in Singapore in 2023. Their trip to Thailand in 2022 also saw the Reds face Manchester United.

Where is Liverpool’s Pre-Season Tour 2024 taking place?
Liverpool have scheduled their first pre-season tour of America since 2019 as the highlight part of their 2024 off-season plans with trips to Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and South Carolina.
When will Liverpool’s Pre-Season Tour 2024 start?
Liverpool will start their pre-season tour of the USA on July 26, three days after flying out to Pittsburgh. But the Reds’ off-season schedule kicked off on July 5 as Arne Slot took his first training session with select parts of Liverpool’s first-team squad at the AXA Training Centre.
Stefan Bajcetic, Conor Bradley, Jarell Quansah and Sepp van den Berg were the first players to return to Liverpool for pre-season training under Slot. Owen Beck, Curtis Jones, Caoimhin Kelleher and Kostas Tsimikas also followed through the club’s doors in the afternoon session.
Slot only had select players return at the start of pre-season training owing to the timing of Euro 2024 and the Copa America. Wataru Endo and Mohamed Salah even enjoyed a longer summer break with the duo only reporting back for their preliminary fitness tests on July 10.
Liverpool’s 2024 pre-season fixture list
As of July 19, Liverpool have only confirmed five friendlies over their 2024 pre-season tour. But fans will only be able to attend four of their summer schedule. Liverpool will play the first match of the Slot era behind closed doors when they host Preston North End for a friendly.
Liverpool will start their tour of the USA with a friendly against Real Betis in Pittsburgh. It is the Reds’ first match against Los Verdiblancos since their only previous meetings during the group stage of the 2005/06 Champions League campaign whilst Rafa Benitez was in charge.
The Anfield outfit will also stage high-profile friendlies with Arsenal and Manchester United during their tour of the USA. It is the first time that Liverpool face Arsenal on American soil. Liverpool beat Arsenal once during their three meetings in 2023/24, whilst also losing once.
Arsenal beat Liverpool 3-1 in their second Premier League clash after drawing 1-1 at Anfield. While the Reds beat the Gunners 2-0 in the FA Cup but lost 4-3 at Manchester United after extra-time in the quarter-finals. The Red Devils also beat Liverpool 4-0 in their 2022 friendly.
Anfield will also stage Liverpool’s final pre-season friendly for 2024 when Sevilla travel to the Merseyside club. It will even be the first time Slot experiences Anfield since replacing Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool’s manager. The friendly is a week before the new Premier League season.

Liverpool have confirmed that the only place for fans in the UK to follow their pre-season in 2024 is LFCTV GO. The subscription service will provide exclusive training footage and more online and via its app. Fans can sign-up for a free one-month trail with a new account, too.
Tickets for Liverpool’s Pre-Season Tour 2024
Liverpool have made tickets for their 2024 pre-season friendly with Real Betis available to buy via Ticketmaster. Official members, season ticket holders, supporters clubs, hospitality members and international academies received a pre-sale phase before general sale, here.
Fans can also buy tickets to attend Liverpool’s pre-season friendlies against Premier League rivals Arsenal and Manchester United through Ticketmaster. Any tickets are available to buy through general sale with the Gunners game available, here, and the Red Devils clash, here.
Supporters wanting to attend Slot’s first match at Anfield as Liverpool’s manager with their friendly against Sevilla can also buy tickets, here. Tickets for Los Nervionenses’ visit will go on sale to season ticket members first on July 12 at 08:15 BST, then general sale on July 15.
