Liverpool look likely to ramp up their transfer business in the weeks before the start of the Premier League season.
The Reds are still yet to make an addition to the team since Arne Slot took over from Jurgen Klopp.
With Slot keen to take a look at the Liverpool squad before delving into the transfer market, a patient approach has been taken at Anfield so far.
But there are still one or two areas in which Liverpool look ever so slightly light. Business is still there to be done.
One place where there is potential room for improvement is in the forward areas. And the Reds could finally be set to make some progress in that respect.

Liverpool in the lead for Baris Alper Yilmaz
In terms of numbers, Liverpool are not badly stocked in the front line at all. However, Mohamed Salah is likely to leave next year and they need to start planning for that.
As a result, the Reds have been linked with a plethora of different kinds of options.
One who looks like possibly being at the top of the list so far is Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon. The latest reports suggest Liverpool could come back in for Gordon at the end of the transfer window.
The 23-year-old would be an incredibly expensive addition, though. With the Liverpool owners always wary of overspending, there are many other options besides Gordon.

Having done well with Turkey at Euro 2024, Galatasaray winger Baris Alper Yilmaz could be one of them. Liverpool were watching Yilmaz at the Euros and will have surely liked what they saw.
According to German journalist Christian Falk, a number of Bundesliga teams were also impressed by the 24-year-old. But reporting for The Daily Briefing, Falk has suggested that Liverpool are in the lead.
“Dortmund has Baris Alper Yilmaz on their shortlist – that’s true,” says the reporter. “It’s not concrete at the moment. The rumours about Frankfurt and Leipzig aren’t as concrete as is the case at Dortmund.
“If Dortmund needs a new striker, in case they sold Fullkrug, it would be an option, but I think Liverpool don’t have to be afraid of the German teams!”
Liverpool ready to push for signings
Judging by Slot’s comments during yesterday’s pre-Real Betis press conference, Liverpool are still likely to make a signing or two this summer.
The head coach said that it would be a ‘surprise’ if the Reds did not bring anyone in. That kind of talk makes it seem as though there are one or two irons in the fire.
It looks possible that Yilmaz could be one of those. The Turk was excellent in the Euros as his nation made it to the quarter-finals.
Yilmaz was praised by Virgil van Dijk and could reportedly be available for around £25m. That’s a good price for a player who has been compared to Man City star Phil Foden.
“One day, he will definitely play in the Premier League because physics comes to the fore there,” Yilmaz’s former manager Ilker Puean claimed. “He has also improved his positional knowledge. The level he is at now is close to Phil Foden.”
