Liverpool supporters are still waiting for the summer transfer window to really start.
The Reds have become known for getting their business done nice and early over recent years.
However, with Arne Slot brand new in the building, Liverpool have thought it better to slowly work their way into the market this year.
Whether that was a good decision or not will ultimately have to wait until a final assessment can be made at the end of August.
For the time being, though, if things are going to happen at Anfield, then they have to happen soon. There is an expectation that Liverpool will still make signings, and rumours continue about who that could be.

Liverpool could still move for Anthony Gordon
Oddly for a summer window, concrete links for Liverpool have been somewhat hard to come by. No one seems to know exactly what Richard Hughes and Slot are planning behind closed doors.
There have been plenty of guesses, and one or two standout rumours. But there has been little suggestion of what the new head coach would really like to add to his Liverpool squad.
One rumour that did get the fanbase excited was the potential of Anthony Gordon joining from Newcastle United.
Gordon was offered to Liverpool at around £85m in June and although the Reds balked at the price and said no, journalist David Lynch says there’s ‘a real chance’ they could come back if the conditions are right.
“On Anthony Gordon I think that’s one that has a real chance of being revived maybe later in the window,” Lynch tells Anfield Agenda.

“Because that contract situation is there. That leaves Newcastle in a weak position in terms of negotiating even though they’ve got past all the PSR trouble that they’ve got. The player would desperately love to play for Liverpool and there’s all that reported interest in Luis Diaz.”
But Lynch does concede that any move for Gordon would likely be dependent on Diaz being sold, something which is currently not expected to happen.
“Now, that interest [in Diaz] has to become something, there has to be a bid come in and it has to be right for Liverpool for a sale,” says the journalist. “They’re not going to just kick him out the door.
“But if that does come together and those ingredients are there, then Anthony Gordon is a player we know they admire, absolutely no doubts about that and with his contact with just two years remaining, they would sense Newcastle’s weakness there and very much put it to the test. That’s my belief.”
Liverpool plotting Anthony Gordon move
As Lynch explains, Gordon would clearly love to play for Liverpool. Having been released by the club as a youngster before going on to make it at Everton, the 23-year-old has a score to settle at Anfield.
Unfortunately for those wishing to see Gordon in red, though, we just can’t see how all of these ‘ingredients’ come together for him to join this summer.
Diaz does not look likely to go, so if it’s dependent on that – and it sounds like it is – then the Gordon move is a non-starter.
Despite that, it looks relatively clear that the ground is being laid here. As a result, we expect that Liverpool are planning to sign Gordon in 2025.
At that stage his contract at Newcastle will have just one year to run – providing he doesn’t sign an extension – and Liverpool will surely be looking to refresh their left-hand side. We think patience will be required here, but then again, you never know.
The one thing that’s for certain is that this is far from over.
