Centre back returns: confirmed Liverpool lineup to play Red Bull Salzburg

It is Liverpool’s first European home game since we broke Barcelona’s hearts in May, here’s hoping the Reds pick up where they left off. Here is the Liverpool confirmed lineup for the tie:

Goalkeeper: Adrian

This could be the Spaniard’s last game as first choice goalkeeper as Alisson could return between the sticks as early as Saturday.

Right back: Trent Alexander-Arnold

Scouser Trent is immovable from his berth on the right hand side of the defence.

Centre back: Joe Gomez

With Joel Matip injured, JoGo is back in the Liverpool lineup, can he keep his place?

Centre back: Virgil van Dijk

Obviously.

Left back: Andy Robertson

The Scotsman will be crucial in launching counter attacks against the gung ho Austrians.

Defensive midfield: Fabinho

Fabby has established himself as the best in the world in recent weeks, he will have to be at his brilliant best tonight.

Centre midfield: Jordan Henderson

We will need a captains performance from Hendo tonight against a strong visitor.

Raphinha, Coutinho and Tielemans: The signings Liverpool could make this summer

Centre midfield: Gini Wijnaldum

The Dutchman’s industriousness will be vital as Liverpool look to press high and counter quickly.

Left wing: Sadio Mane

Another former Salzburg-er, Sadio will be crucial to our lightning attack.

Right wing: Mo Salah

The Egyptian king has been out of sorts lately, can he regain some confidence tonight?

Striker: Roberto Firmino

We will need all of the Brazilian’s skill and experience tonight to conquer the free scoring Austrians, we will need to outscore them in what promises to be a goal fest.
