Liverpool have been long standing admirers of wonderkid Jadon Sancho. The fleet footed winger has wowed Europe with his performances in the last year.
Jürgen Klopp admitted, as reported by the Telegraph, that he wanted Liverpool to sign Jadon Sancho before his move to Borussia Dortmund.
The gaffer doesn’t seem to be the only Red that has been bowled over by the Englishman’s ability; captain Jordan Henderson has been heaping praise on the player following his recent England display.
The Dortmund man starred in England’s 5-3 win over Kosovo at the St Mary’s Stadium on Tuesday night. England were irresistible on the front foot as they put 5 past a helpless Kosovan side. The winger was electric and grabbed the three Lions last two goals with strikes in the 44th and 46th minute. The double made him the youngest England player to score twice in a game since Wayne Rooney bagged a brace against Croatia in June 2004. He is in esteemed company.
Speaking to The Guardian after the game, Liverpool’s Champions League winning captain raved about the prodigy. In an article published on the 11th of September 2019, Henderson was quoted as saying “I thought Sancho was brilliant at times”.
The Reds midfielder was impressed by the 19-year-old’s technical ability, he continued: “He was so good with the ball, his runs and his final product”.
Kopites will be encouraged by the Liverpool leader’s comments. Hopefully by letting the Brit abroad know how highly he is rated at Anfield, he may be more inclined to make the switch to Merseyside.
