Liverpool’s summer transfer plans are beginning to take shape, and the latest round of updates points towards a busy window at Anfield.

The Reds need to strengthen in several areas after a disappointing campaign, with attacking depth, midfield quality and the goalkeeper situation all under the microscope.

Bradley Barcola appears to be one of the most exciting names on the radar, while Liverpool also have decisions to make around Alisson Becker, Giorgi Mamardashvili and potential midfield arrivals.

You can only pick ONE player for Liverpool to sign this summer, who is it?

Liverpool transfer news

The most eye-catching update concerns Barcola, who continues to be linked with a move to Anfield ahead of the summer window.

The PSG winger has emerged as one of the most exciting attacking options under consideration, and there is a growing sense that Liverpool are willing to push hard for him.

Barcola would offer pace, direct running and one-on-one threat, all qualities Liverpool have lacked too often this season.

The key point is that the Frenchman is said to be increasingly receptive to the idea of a move. PSG are not actively looking to lose him, but Liverpool appear to be testing whether there is a deal to be done.

Liverpool are looking at Maghnes Akliouche and Lamine Camara, two young Monaco stars.

Akliouche would add creativity and technical quality in the final third, while Camara would bring energy and physicality to the midfield. In today’s market, £70m for two young players with clear upside would look like smart business.

There is also the question of Giorgi Mamardashvili.

Liverpool have made a decision on Mamardashvili if Alisson Becker leaves this summer. Juventus are reportedly in talks with Alisson, and while the Brazilian is not forcing his way out, if he goes, Mamardashvili is the concrete choice as Liverpool’s No.1.

Liverpool signed him with the long term in mind, and they still see him as the future of the position.

Elsewhere, Assan Ouedraogo has been linked with Liverpool, but German reports have played down claims of a €40m release clause. Leipzig do not appear to be planning a sale, which makes that deal look difficult for now.

Arne Slot has already suggested Liverpool will look very different next season. With multiple exits expected, it will require an active window, possibly even surpassing last summer’s number of signings.
