Luis Diaz will thrive with Bayern star who gives Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong nightmares

Luis Diaz is set to complete a move from Liverpool to Bayern Munich, where he will link up with one man who Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong despised playing against.

Diaz is Bayern-bound for a fee of around £65m, which Arne Slot will look to use in the transfer market, and could go in the Alexander Isak to Liverpool fund.

The Colombian, however, embarks on a new journey in Germany, trading leagues with new Liverpool recruits Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong.

Diaz will become very close with one individual in particular, whom Wirtz and Frimpong despised playing against.

Diaz, of course, a left-winger by trade, will form a formidable duo down the wing with Canadian Alphonso Davies.

While at Anfield, Diaz was known for his mazey runs, blistering speed, and link-up with Andy Robertson – something he can replicate with Bayern’s left-back.

Diaz loves playing quick, one-and-two-touch football, which in Germany, at a slower pace, will be an absolute game changer for Vincent Kompany’s side.

But Davies is a different animal. The 24-year-old is one of the quickest and strongest players on the planet, and combine that with Diaz’s capabilities – that’s a recipe for sheer chaos in Germany.

This is something Liverpool’s two recruits in Wirtz and Frimpong, know all too well from their time at Bayer Leverkusen.

Wirtz and Frimpong on Alphonso Davies

In an episode of ‘Bezzies’ on Liverpool’s official channel, the pair agreed Davies was the hardest opponent they’ve ever had to face.

“I think we have the same. Davies, he’s fast, man. Fast and strong,” Frimpong admitted, with Wirtz nodding along.

Davies was linked to Liverpool in January, but signed a contract extension in February, all but ending links to Anfield.

The pair will be grateful not to be in the Bundesliga anymore, and Diaz will be grateful, if not more, that he gets to dazzle alongside him.
