Liverpool will be able to sign new players from Wednesday as the January transfer window opens for business.
The Reds have only bought Federico Chiesa over the past year and it seems unlikely that they’ll decide to add to their squad this New Year either.
However, having kept their powder dry for so long, there is a feeling that Liverpool will need to do much more in 2025.
For now, it feels likely that most – if not all – of that will be reserved for the summer.
When that rolls around, there is a strong chance that Liverpool will be operating as Premier League champions. There is also the possibility that the Liverpool squad will have lost Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah.
Another player who’s Anfield future has been in doubt of late is Andy Robertson. After some poor performances from Robertson, Liverpool have reportedly set their sights on three new options at left-back.

Liverpool eyeing three left-backs
Robertson has been a wonderful servant to Liverpool across more than seven years.
However, with the 30-year-old starting to cost the team on a semi-regular basis, the time is surely right to line up a successor.
Plenty of players have been mentioned as being on the radar in that respect, with Milos Kerkez being heavily linked of late.
And according to The Daily Mail, Kerkez is one of the ‘potential options’ for Liverpool.

Fulham’s Antonee Robinson and Alphonso Davies – who is out of contract at Bayern Munich – are named as two more possible targets.
Although supporters may disagree with the stance, it’s claimed that a move for any of these three is more likely to happen in summer 2025.
Alphonso Davies has to be Liverpool’s top target
There’s no two ways about it really, Liverpool cannot go into the 2025/26 season with Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas as their two left-back options. Something needs to change.
And while Kerkez would be a great signing and Robinson has his qualities, it’s clear that Davies is a cut above.
Still only 24, the Canadian is a world-class full-back who has operated at the top of the European game for five years already.
Back in 2020, Rio Ferdinand called Davies ‘the Usain Bolt of football‘ such is his pace and power. After seeing Robertson on the decline, Liverpool’s defence could really do with that shot in the arm.
Reports claim that Davies is wanted by Real Madrid and will not be easy for Liverpool to get as a result. But if there’s any chance at all, then the Reds have to make him their top target out of this bunch.
