The future of Trent Alexander-Arnold at Liverpool remains uncertain.

The right-back is out of contract at the end of the season and all signs point to the 26-year-old calling time on his Liverpool career.

Alexander-Arnold is being heavily pursued by Real Madrid and having won everything at Liverpool, and possibly more this season, it is understandable that the full-back seeks a new challenge.

The right-back is a generational talent and it will be impossible for the Merseyside club to replace him, however, it will need to be done, in some way or another.

One Premier League star is making a strong case for Liverpool to come and get him, and a player in the Reds’s squad could help lure him to Anfield.

Liverpool should consider a move for Crystal Palace’s Daniel Munoz

Liverpool are blessed when it comes to right-backs as Conor Bradley’s Tottenham performance highlighted once again that the Irishman is more than capable of stepping up if Alexander-Arnold leaves.

However, Arne Slot will need another body to replace the defender, and that’s where Crystal Palace’s Daniel Munoz comes in.

The 28-year-old’s age may be a turn-off for the Reds, but his attacking style of play makes him a great player to use in rotation with Bradley.

Munoz scored in Crystal Palace’s FA Cup clash with Millwall on Saturday, which made it five goals and five assists for the full-back during the 2024/25 campaign.

No Premier League defender has scored more goals across all competitions this season and this will start to attract the attention of some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

Liverpool should certainly be one of them and they may have an advantage in a potential race as the Colombian’s international teammate, Luis Diaz, could help convince the Crystal Palace star to move to Anfield.

The Reds have other options, but Slot will like what he sees should he delve deeper into Munoz’s numbers.

Arne Slot could take Daniel Munoz to another level at Liverpool

Slot likes his full-backs to be proper wide players, although he uses Alexander-Arnold differently from Andy Robertson.

Munoz ticks this box as the Colombian likes to get up the pitch, he is aggressive off of the ball and gets into the box often to provide goals and assists.

The 28-year-old’s numbers from the 24/25 campaign are very impressive, especially from an attacking point of view.

Evident from the table above, Munoz’s numbers are similar to a generational talent such as Alexander-Arnold, despite the Colombian star playing in a weaker team.

Liverpool have been linked to Feyenoord’s Givairo Read, amongst others, but Munoz is right in front of their eyes every week in the Premier League.

It is uncertain if Palace would be willing to part ways with the full-back this summer, or how much the defender would cost, but he is a player the Reds should consider ahead of the 24/25 campaign.
