Liverpool had a somewhat busy deadline day with the Reds loaning two academy stars in the final hours of the transfer window.

Jayden Danns signed for Sunderland for the remainder of the season as Kaide Gordon joined Portsmouth having been recalled by Liverpool after a more than underwhelming spell at Norwich City in the first half of the campaign.

With Gordon signing for Portsmouth until the summer, the 20-year-old attacker will be desperate to show Liverpool and the wider footballing world how good he really is having made a record-breaking start to life at Anfield after joining from Derby County.

Whilst Portsmouth are fighting for survival in the Championship, the addition of Gordon will be encouraging for the Fratton Park side, and manager John Mousinho has shared what he’s most excited to see from the Liverpool winger having now joined on loan.

Portsmouth manager keen to see Gordon’s attacking qualities

Speaking to Portsmouth’s official website, the Championship manager noted how much potential Gordon has as an attacker, with Mousinho eager to see the winger in action and the quality the youngster can provide to Pompey’s attacking ranks.

With Harvey Elliott and Cody Gakpo fans of Gordon, the England youth international will be excited to get started at Portsmouth after a wasteful loan spell at Norwich, where the forward only made 11 appearances for the Canaries, scoring once.

Yet with Portsmouth in need of some fire power, Gordon is at the ideal club to showcase his best qualities and to help drag the Championship side back into safety after a difficult season in the second-tier.

Indeed, Gordon’s career has been plagued with injuries in recent years, and at Portsmouth, the winger will want to get his footballing life back on track and to start showing why he could have a future at Liverpool under Arne Slot.
