With Crystal Palace also making a £15m offer for Liverpool youngster Ben Doak, this January is shaping up to be a busy one for Arne Slot’s side, who they themselves could do with an extra signing or two to aid in their bid to win the Premier League.

Yet two Liverpool youngsters who Slot is keen to promote could now both be heading out on loan.

Liverpool youngsters Jayden Danns and James McConnell attracting loan interest

According to the Athletic, Liverpool academy graduates Jayden Danns and James McConnell are both attracting ‘plenty of loan interest’ this January, with the pair regarded as two of the most promising youngsters currently on the Reds’ books.

With Arne Slot keen to promote Danns and McConnell into Liverpool’s first-team, the pair heading out on loan this January could work wonders for their development having made their senior side bows last season under Jurgen Klopp.

Indeed, McConnell was originally supposed to leave Liverpool on loan in the summer before the plan was ultimately scrapped, whilst Danns has already attracted interest from Plymouth Argyle after making quite a name for himself last year in Liverpool’s first-team.

And with both youngsters attracting loan interest, Liverpool would be wise to allow the pair to leave for the remainder of the season, especially with chances in the senior team now unlikely given what’s at stake in the Premier Leagur and the UEFA Champions League.

What other Liverpool players could leave in January?

January is always an awkward time for any top Premier League side to allow players to leave, yet for Liverpool, it is an opportunity to trim down the squad and to allow some youngsters to depart on loan for valuable experience.

Federico Chiesa is believed to be nearing a loan move back to Italy having only joined Liverpool in the summer, whilst Tyler Morton is still waiting for the green light to leave the Reds having missed out on a temporary exit earlier in the season.

This January is promising to be a busy one for Liverpool, and the departures of Danns and McConnell could be beneficial with the youngsters a pair that Slot is keen to one day bring in to his first-team plans.
