The January transfer window is now open and presents Liverpool with a glorious opportunity to fine-tune their squad.
Arne Slot refrained from splashing the cash in the summer but offloaded a handful of players, with the likes of Fabio Carvalho and Sepp van den Berg moving on for sizable fees, among others.
January is set to be a quiet month for Liverpool in terms of signings, but players on the fringes of the squad may be moved on if their valuations are met.
And if reports are to be believed, Crystal Palace have just made a big offer to sign one of Liverpool’s brightest prospects.

Crystal Palace make official offer for Liverpool loanee Ben Doak
Ben Doak has spent the first half of the season on loan at Middlesbrough and has delivered a string of magnificent displays for the Championship club.

Liverpool have high hopes for the Scottish youngster, who featured a handful of times for the first team under Jurgen Klopp.
However, with the Reds spoilt for choice in attack, he was loaned out in the summer of 2024 to get regular game time under his belt.
Doak has done just that and has seemingly attracted interest from Crystal Palace, who according to Sami Mokbel, have submitted an official offer worth £15m to sign him immediately.
The Daily Mail journalist wrote on X: “Crystal Palace have made a £15million offer for Liverpool’s Ben Doak, who is currently on loan at Middlesbrough.”
It remains to be seen how Liverpool respond, but Doak’s stock has clearly risen this year, having also made his senior debut for his national team.
What has Slot said about Doak?

Liverpool fans described Doak as a ‘generational’ talent after his performance against Croatia’s Josko Gvardiol and the youngster has continued to improve with each passing game.
Speaking at a press conference in November, Slot made a tongue-in-cheek comment about bringing Doak back from his loan spell due to his fine form.
He said (quotes via LFC): “He also went to a very good manager and they have a very good playing style.
“It’s a balance we need to find: do we want to play them on a regular basis or once in a while and keep them with us where we have to be aware of our own interests?
“Like you see now, we’ve got six forwards, two of them are injured, so only four left. With the schedule we have, that’s sometimes a bit of a worry for me. Maybe we should bring Ben Doak back!”
The Dutchman was clearly joking, but it’s reassuring to see that he has taken note of the youngster’s development.
Time will tell if Doak remains at Liverpool, but he’s certainly a talented attacker who has the potential to go to the top if he carries on in the same vein.
