Arne Slot wasn’t on the touchline for Liverpool during their 2-1 Carabao Cup win against Southampton at St Mary’s.

The Dutchman served his one-match touchline ban after picking up three yellow cards over the course of the season for dissent and was pictured in the stands as his players got the job done.

Liverpool are now in the semifinals of the Carabao Cup and have edged closer to defending their crown, having also won the competition last season under Jurgen Klopp.

The game didn’t have too many talking points, but Slot was spotted sitting next to a coach he knows very well from his time at Feyenoord.

Goals from Darwin Nunez and Harvey Elliott got the job done for Liverpool, although Southampton threatened to come back into the game after Cameron Archer reduced the deficit in the second half.

As the rain pelted down on the south coast, Slot sat comfortably in the stands but was spotted next to Roderick van der Ham, who was pictured for the first time as a Liverpool man.

The video analyst, who he knows well from his time at Feyenoord, looks like he’s already started work at his new club as he was pictured alongside the Liverpool boss.

Van der Ham confirmed he had left Feyenoord last month after claims Liverpool wanted him to be part of their coaching staff and has finally linked up with his old colleagues at Anfield.

Slot’s Liverpool coaching staff now complete

With David Breen joining Liverpool as their first-team physio and Van der Ham as their video analyst, Slot’s backroom staff at Anfield is now complete.

There were reports at the start of the season that Liverpool wanted a new set-piece coach, but there haven’t been any updates on the situation since.

Nevertheless, with Sipke Hulshoff, Ruben Peeters, John Heitinga and Aaron Briggs already at the club and two new coaches joining in recent weeks, the Dutchman has most bases covered, at least for the time being.
