Trent Alexander-Arnold’s England career looked like an enigma this summer at the Euros, yet the Liverpool defender has looked reborn this international break.

The 25-year-old returned to the right-back position under interim England manager Lee Carsley against the Republic of Ireland, with Alexander-Arnold stealing the show and winning praise from the likes of Gary Lineker.

With the English media also lauding Alexander-Arnold, the Liverpool fullback looked like his usual self under Carsley, with the right-back looking like a dream successor to Kyle Walker for the Three Lions at the back.

And pundit Jamie O’Hara was in awe by what Alexander-Arnold did for England against Finland.

Alexander-Arnold’s passing lauded in England win vs Finland

Taking to Twitter, the pundit was in awe by Alexander-Arnold’s passing for England at Wembley Stadium against Finland, with O’Hara posting: “Trent’s passing is unbelievable.”

With Alexander-Arnold assisting one of Harry Kane’s two goals on the night against the Scandinavian nation, the Liverpool defender once again proved why he is an obvious choice to replace Walker at right-back for England.

Indeed, whilst Rio Ferdinand believes Alexander-Arnold still has what it takes to play in midfield for England, the Liverpool star’s performances this international break have been enough to convince everyone that right-back is the position for the 25-year-old.

And Alexander-Arnold’s display against Finland was nothing short of incredible, with the Liverpool maestro showing why he has a real future in the right-back position for England despite strong competition.

Alexander-Arnold has made the right-back position his own for England

Alexander-Arnold has started the new season for club and country in brilliant form, with the defender showing the world why he is one of the best in the world after a forgettable summer in Germany.

And this international break has more or less allowed Alexander-Arnold to make the right-back position his own for England, with the defender the creative heartbeat for the Three Lions under Carsley.

With Walker’s international career slowly coming to and end, Alexander-Arnold is the natural replacement for the Manchester City star, and the 25-year-old is clearly the next in line to take the position for England in the years to come.
