Liverpool have been selling a number of exciting young players during the summer transfer window so far.
The Reds have made an impressive amount of money so far this off-season and are yet to invest any of it back into the team.
Two more sales were confirmed on Thursday, with Bobby Clark’s move to RB Salzburg and Brentford signing Sepp van den Berg raking in around £35m for Liverpool.
There could yet be further departures, too. Tyler Morton is expected to be sold as the benefit of developing high quality players through the academy shines through.
While one half of the youth team’s aim is to raise funds for the club, though, the second part is arguably even more important: to provide players for the first-team squad. Thankfully, that is also happening, too.

Arne Slot confirms Trey Nyoni’s first-team status
Throughout the summer transfer window so far, there has been a clamour for Liverpool to sign a high quality, deep lying midfielder.
The Reds tried to get Martin Zubimendi, but after being rejected by the Spaniard it has become clear that Liverpool had no alternative to Zubimendi.
Part of the reason for that is that Arne Slot has been impressed by Trey Nyoni, the 17-year-old signed from Leicester City last year.
Nyoni was brilliant in pre-season and appeared to jump ahead of the likes of Morton and even Stefan Bajcetic.
With Morton preparing to be sold and Bajcetic likely to go on-loan, Nyoni looks set to be a part of Slot’s senior team.

Asked during his pre-Brentford press conference on Friday whether he understood concerns that Liverpool are letting too many young players leave, Slot pointed to Nyoni as a symbol of the other side of the coin.
“The squad we have has a lot of homegrown players,” the Dutchman asserted. “One of them, Trey Nyoni, is also training with us on a daily basis. But he’s only 17.
“This club will always bring good youngsters and it’s always a challenge to find the right moment to play them, or if they’ve played quite a lot of minutes they want to make the next step in their career,” Slot added.
“If that is not possible then it’s the best for them and also for the club to let them go.”
How far off a start is Trey Nyoni?
Nyoni has of course made an official appearance already for Liverpool. The teenager came on as a substitute against Southampton last season.
Jurgen Klopp raved about Nyoni after that game and it’s clear that the former Leicester prospect has the potential to be a top player.
Having said that, Liverpool should not expect too much from Nyoni. There is a long way to go before he should be considered a genuine option for Slot.
There are still a fair few players ahead of him in the pecking order and it’s unlikely that we’ll see Trey at all until Liverpool’s Carabao Cup season starts in September.
As they aim to defend the trophy they won last season, we’d expect that Nyoni may feature to some degree. Until then, though, he’ll continue developing and learning with Liverpool’s senior stars.
