Liverpool could be set for a busy end to the transfer window as they target both incomings and outgoings.
The Reds have been very quiet throughout the summer so far, with not much by way of departures and no new players joining at all.
That could soon change, with Liverpool in talks to sign Giorgi Mamardashvili and the possibility of Barcelona bidding for Luis Diaz.
As well as Diaz, a number of other Liverpool players could potentially leave as Arne Slot trims the fat of his first-team squad.
For the most part, those exits are likely to be fringe players looking for loans or permanent moves away. But former Reds striker Dean Saunders has warned that the Reds could soon lose a much bigger name.

Liverpool warned over Trent Alexander-Arnold situation
Liverpool’s summer window so far has been really disappointing. The lack of arrivals is not necessarily a huge surprise, but it does mean supporters are restless ahead of the new season starting.
But it isn’t only the lack of new faces at the AXA Training Centre which has fans worried right now.
Perhaps even more nerve-wracking than the fact that no business has been done is that Liverpool still have not sorted the contract situations of Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
As it stands, all four players will be able to talk to clubs in Europe about a free transfer from January. That is especially galling.
And according to Saunders, Liverpool will be in ‘big trouble’ if they let any or all of those three players walk over the next year.

“What worries me and it’s a massive concern,” the pundit told TalkSPORT.
“The four best players are Alisson, Van Dijk, Salah and Trent. They are world-class and they make the rest of the squad really good. If you lose those four players, then Liverpool are in big trouble.
“Don’t be surprised if you see Trent playing at Bayern Munich or Real Madrid shortly,” Saunders adds. “Or, I mean, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Saudis offered him a ridiculous amount of money. Same for Van Dijk, he’s in his thirties.
“Salah, is he sill as motivated as he’s always been? Or is he thinking ‘I could end up in Saudi, three year contract on about two billion quid.'”
Liverpool need Alexander-Arnold sorted
By this stage of the summer, Liverpool fans would maybe have expected that the club would have been sorted with contract renewals for one, two or all of this trio.
As the Reds continue to dawdle, though, the situation is becoming more and more of a concern.
Although they won’t want to lose any of them, Alexander-Arnold is without doubt causing the most worry amongst the fan base.
Trent has interest from Real Madrid and if Liverpool don’t manage to tie him down to a new deal, they won’t be the only European giant who are keen on signing him.
The longer this goes on, the higher the possibility feels that Liverpool are massively dropping the ball.
