Liverpool look all set to make some big moves in the transfer window during August.
The Reds have so far been utterly silent in the market as they assess what Arne Slot needs from his players.
But with Liverpool now back on home soil following their time in the USA, there has been a promise of activity within the first-team squad.
It has been claimed that Liverpool could make up to four signings, with a centre-back, defensive midfielder and up to two wide forwards being on the wish list.
And after it was confirmed that a leading target has been identified in defensive midfield, there are now claims that Liverpool could even add to one of the positions not initially expected.

Giorgi Mamardashvili keen on Liverpool
It has been relatively clear for some time now that Liverpool need an elite defensive midfielder. As a result, most supporters will be delighted to hear that the Reds are pushing to sign one.
Another centre-back is also needed, whether that ends up being Sepp van den Berg or a new addition.
Meanwhile, forward signings are always welcome, too. If Liverpool end up signing Anthony Gordon, then no one will be complaining.
But as well as those three positions, it could also be that the Reds need to find a new goalkeeper this summer. Caoimhin Kelleher could still leave and Liverpool are reportedly lining up a replacement for him.
The Reds are planning ahead with Kelleher for now, but there remains some uncertainty over his future. Alisson Becker has also been linked with a move away.

As a result, goalkeeper always felt like it might be an area of movement for Liverpool this summer. And according to Spanish outlet Cope, the Reds have identified Valencia’s Giorgi Mamardashvili as the man they want.
They claim that Mamardashvili’s future is ‘up in the air’ and that he looks likely to join a Premier League side this summer.
Liverpool are said to be the team ‘most committed’ to bringing the Georgian in. In order to do so the Reds will reportedly have to pay between £26-34m.
Although Mamardashvili would initially be No.2 at Anfield, it’s claimed that he is nevertheless ‘attracted’ to the idea. Liverpool are said to have the plan of signing Mamardashvili and then loaning him out until such time as Alisson moves on.
Mamardashvili move makes no sense for Liverpool
Mamardashvili is clearly a very good goalkeeper. The 23-year-old has been Valencia’s No.1 for the past three seasons and was excellent at Euro 2024 recently.
Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou called Mamardashvili ‘outstanding’ [ITV] for his work during the tournament with Georgia and as a young ‘keeper he’s only going to get better.
But from a Liverpool point of view, it simply does not make any sense to try and sign him.
Alisson is going nowhere this summer and if Liverpool know he’s leaving in a year’s time, then you’d imagine they’d be having a conversation with Kelleher about becoming the No.1.
If this does end up happening then we’d actually suggest that Reds fans should be worried, about both of their current goalkeepers, that is.
