Four Liverpool players who could leave Anfield at the last minute this summer

Liverpool are in real danger of falling behind their rivals next season given their lack of action in the summer transfer window.

Arne Slot is yet to sign any players ahead of the new campaign, with many of Liverpool’s rivals making major signings.

The Reds finished third in the Premier League last time out, behind champions Manchester City and Arsenal.

Pep Guardiola and Mikel Arteta have been busy this summer, but Slot is using the current pre-season tour of the USA to assess his squad.

The Dutchman has already enjoyed success on the pitch with the Reds, with Liverpool beating Real Betis 1-0 in their first pre-season friendly.

Four Liverpool players who could make last-minute exits

It was a great chance for the new manager to get a proper look at many players, with a handful undoubtedly playing for their futures at the club.

Rousing The Kop takes a look at four players who could fail to impress and therefore be sold by Slot late this summer.

Ryan Gravenberch

Midfield ace Ryan Gravenberch only joined the Reds last summer, with the Netherlands international playing a key role in Jurgen Klopp’s final season in charge.

The 22-year-old made 38 appearances in all competitions, with his displays earning him a spot for his national team at Euro 2024.

But question marks have now emerged over his place at Anfield, with Gravenberch ‘not considered in the squad’ by Slot.

Sepp van den Berg

Another Dutchman that could exit Liverpool this summer is Sepp van den Berg, who has just returned from a loan spell at Mainz.

That move represented the centre-back’s third different temporary club since his move to the Merseyside outfit.

The Reds have rejected an £8million offer from PSV for the 22-year-old, but they will perhaps sanction his exit should a bigger bid arrive before the window closes.

Wataru Endo

Another player that Liverpool want to keep hold of for the time being is Wataru Endo, with the Reds turning down a £12million offer from Marseille for the midfielder.

Again, the club’s chiefs could be holding out for a higher offer for the Japan international, from Marseille or elsewhere.

Like Gravenberch, Endo was signed last summer as part of the midfield rebuild, but the latter was seemingly a temporary fix.

Caoimhin Kelleher

Despite his lengthy stay at Anfield, Caoimhin Kelleher is yet to reach 50 Liverpool appearances, having made more than half of his total last season.

The goalkeeper is not a player that most Reds fans will want to see leave this summer, but at the same time they would be keen for him to be playing regular football.

The Republic of Ireland international should have the same thoughts, with another back-up role expected this season should he decide to remain at Anfield.
