Luis Diaz shows off new hairstyle as he arrives for Liverpool pre-season training with Darwin Nunez

Liverpool are getting closer to finally having their full squad together for the last leg of pre-season.

The Reds are flying back from the USA on Sunday after a successful three-game tour in the country.

And as the travelling Liverpool squad prepare to put their feet up on Monday, the last drips of the first-team have arrived at the AXA Training Centre.

Arne Slot must have been looking forward to working with the whole group and Slot confirmed that everyone will be back by Tuesday on Merseyside.

Happily, six of the remaining seven players left to return have been spotted checking back in to training in Liverpool.

Luis Diaz sports new hairstyle

It has been an incredibly productive tour for Liverpool this summer. With three impressive wins out of three and no injury concerns, things could hardly have gone better.

Perhaps the one thing missing from the trip was Slot and his coaching staff getting the chance to work with some of the real stars of the Reds squad.

It would have been great to have seen the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Darwin Nunez and all the others get to grips with the Dutchman’s system from day one.

Nevertheless, the absence of such stars allowed others to shine. Slot has been impressed with Fabio Carvalho, for example, and now wants to keep him around.

Still, it’s always pleasing to see the big boys return from their summer breaks. And Liverpool’s official X account posted a video on Sunday afternoon which will delight supporters.

In the one minute long clip, Van Dijk, Alexander-Arnold, Nunez, Cody Gakpo, Joe Gomez and Luis Diaz are all seen arriving at the AXA Training Centre to begin pre-season.

All look happy and relaxed, with the Liverpool captain giving a ‘welcome home’ and a smile to the camera.

Also notable is that Diaz has got a new look for the new era. Fresh from being a runner-up at the Copa America, Lucho is spotted with a bleach blonde streak through the middle of his curly hair.

Where is Alisson Becker?

After the initial joy of seeing the video posted this afternoon, the first question asked by Liverpool supporters has been, ‘where is Alisson Becker?’

Alisson is the seventh member of the Liverpool squad yet to return to duty back home.

There has been speculation over the goalkeeper’s future, with Alisson attracting interest from Saudi Arabia all summer long.

In theory, the 31-year-old should have returned around the same time Diogo Jota did, and taken some part in the fixtures in the USA.

That Alisson still has not been spotted with everyone else now back will cause unease amongst the fanbase. Let’s hope his whereabouts are cleared up soon.
