Arne Slot exhausts Liverpool trio in gruelling pre-season training drill
Pre-season has already started on Merseyside with Arne Slot putting parts of the Liverpool first-team through their paces. Not every star has returned to the AXA Training Centre with those on international duty given longer off. But some who have returned also need a break.
The Liverpool ECHO claims that Slot exhausted Jarell Quansah, Conor Bradley and Sepp van den Berg during a gruelling drill. He wore the trio out during an endurance exam which sees players run around the 400m track for six minutes with a desired end distance of 1.5 to 2km.
Quansah, Bradley and Van den Berg all seemed knackered at the end of the drill as Slot gets settled in as Liverpool’s new manager. He is keen to whip the Reds into shape before jetting over to the USA this summer for Liverpool’s pre-season tour, which is set to start this month.

Liverpool think they are signing ‘one of the best’ in Rio Ngumoha
Liverpool think they are about to get ‘one of the best’ youth players in England with Chelsea talent Rio Ngumoha. That is according to Paul Gorst, who reports that the Reds are planning to give the 15-year-old a spot in their Under-18 side next season to land the winger’s arrival.
Anfield chiefs have ‘high hopes’ for Ngumoha and are convinced he is one of the top names in his age group. But the Merseyside outfit do not want to rush his progress too soon, so any senior outings are unlikely. Liverpool are finalising Ngumoha’s transfer on a scholarship deal.
Ngumoha has already featured for Chelsea at the Under-21 level, as well as with England for their U15 and U16 squads. But the Blues have failed to convince the forward to stay in west London as Liverpool strive to welcome the top emerging talents in Britain to their academy.

Liverpool target Andriy Lunin is open to leaving Real Madrid
Liverpool have landed a boost for their pursuit of Andriy Lunin with the Ukraine goalkeeper open to leaving Real Madrid. That is according to Sport, which reports that the 25-year-old will listen to offers after Carlo Ancelotti made it clear that he is only Thibaut Courtois’s No2.
Real Madrid are keen to keep Lunin in the Spanish capital after offering a new contract with his current deal expiring in 2025. But Ancelotti’s stance has convinced Lunin to listen to any bids with Liverpool fighting interest from Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United.
Liverpool are very keen to sign Lunin irrespective of which goalkeeper leaves Anfield amidst doubts surrounding Alisson Becker and Caoimhin Kelleher. The Reds believe he can be their No1 next term or come in as the back-up with super-agent Jorge Mendes speaking to clubs.
