Liverpool are settling into life with Arne Slot after the Dutchman took over from Jurgen Klopp this summer.
Slot has a big job on his hands as he looks to continue the legacy left by one of the Reds’ best ever managers.
Coming into Liverpool having been in Dutch football throughout his career would always have been a tall order for Slot. But following one of the best bosses in the club’s history makes it that much harder.
Nevertheless, the 45-year-old seems to be up to the task. Having already started pre-season at the AXA Training Centre, Slot now very much feels like the Liverpool head coach.
We still await his first game in charge to make the transition complete. But as we wait to see Slot’s tactical system at Liverpool, there have been some signs of changing times at Anfield.
Anfield museum welcomes Arne Slot
We are now two weeks out from Liverpool’s first pre-season fixture of 2024/25. Real Betis will be the opponents for Slot’s bow as Reds boss.
As well as being the former Feyenoord head coach’s first game, it will also be an instant reunion for Adrian, who has re-joined his boyhood club.
Happily, Slot will also then get the opportunity to say hello to the Liverpool stadium before the season kicks off.
The Reds have announced that they will play Betis’ local rivals Sevilla at Anfield on August the 11th. That promises to be an interesting occasion.

In the meantime, some cosmetic changes have been happening at the famous old stadium ahead of the campaign.
With Klopp at the helm for so long recently, it has been a while since the Anfield museum has had to make any kind of new display to honour the manager.
But according to journalist James Pearce on X, that changed on Thursday evening. Slot now has his own wall for visitors to marvel at.
“The relaunch of the Anfield museum tonight,” writes Pearce, alongside a handy picture and video. “Includes a new Klopp exhibition. Slot on the wall already.”

Of course, the real test for Slot will be whether he can continue Klopp’s excellent work on the pitch for the Reds.
But the former midfielder is certainly being given the tools to do so by Liverpool. His welcome has been warm and he will be given time by the fanbase.
In the meantime he is getting to know the players in his Liverpool squad. Slot was spotted chatting with Mohamed Salah on Wednesday and more and more of his big names will be returning in the coming weeks.
It’s also important to note that Slot is now finalising the additions to his coaching staff. Aaron Briggs was confirmed to have joined on Thursday, while Ruben Peeters has been getting rave reviews, too.
The transition is almost complete. It’s time to get excited for what lies ahead.
