As the transfer window begins to creep into view, Liverpool are dealing with the prospect of losing some big players.

The Reds already know they’re in for a period of upheaval, with a new manager set to take over from Jurgen Klopp. And as Klopp prepares to leave, rumours have started to swirl that some of his key men may follow him out of the door.

Up until recently, these whisperings had largely been focused on Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah. However, with Trent Alexander-Arnold also dangerously close to the end of his deal, he’s reportedly now in the crosshairs of Real Madrid.

Another player who’s been subject to admiring glances from one of the continent’s richest clubs is Luis Diaz. The Colombian has been in top form recently and has reportedly drawn interest from PSG.

With reports in the media cropping up again on Tuesday, Colombian journalist Pipe Sierra has now shed more light on things.

What’s going on with Luis Diaz and PSG

PSG are, of course, preparing to lose Kylian Mbappe this summer. Despite plenty of rumours to the contrary though, he won’t be joining Liverpool. Mbappe is Real Madrid bound.

As a result, the French champions will be in need of a top player to replace their No.10. Freed from the enormous wage demands of Mbappe, they’ll also have a bit of money to play with.

So, it’s understandable that Diaz might be on their list. As one of the best around in his position, that’s normal. And as per a report in The Telegraph yesterday, that’s exactly what’s happening.

With the report circulating online, Liverpool supporters started to get angsty. So, one put it to Diaz’s countryman Sierra to find out the reliability of their claims.

Replying on X, the journalist’s short comment is unlikely to put any worried fans minds at ease. “The interest is real,” he says.

What else was reported about Luis Diaz

According to The Telegraph, Liverpool and Diaz are likely to be ‘at a crossroads’ this summer. Although the 27-year-old still has three years left on his contract, it’s claimed that the Reds will either decide to sell him or renew his deal.

As well as PSG, Barcelona are reportedly interested in Diaz. However, the Catalan club in particular would struggle to reach the £75m Liverpool are said to value him at.

The interest comes on the back of a reported visit Diaz’s agent, Raul Costa, took to meet his client in England recently.

This doesn’t seem like it’s going away, to be honest. And while we’re perhaps leaning towards selling Diaz this summer, it would still be a shame to see him leave.
