Robbie Fowler thinks ‘special’ Liverpool player may just have made himself undroppable

Liverpool are still basking in the glory of what was a brilliant win for them last night.

A 4-1 win over Chelsea at Anfield restored their five point lead at the top of the Premier League table and sent out another statement to Manchester City. The Reds are up for the fight.

Perhaps the best thing of all about the victory was the performance of Conor Bradley. Bagging himself a goal and two assists, Bradley truly announced himself against the Blues.

So good was the 20-year-old, that Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler suggested to TNT Sports after the game that he’d made himself undroppable for Sunday’s trip to Arsenal.

“That was a special performance [from Bradley],” Fowler raved. “I think Liverpool now have great players in different positions, but the manager will have a headache now. I’m not sure whether you can leave him out of the side.

“When he has played, he’s performed brilliant. Going forward he’s been magnificent. But defensively tonight as well I think he had a lot of players in the pocket, anyone who went over to his side. He defended unbelievable.”

Bradley set for starring role

We certainly don’t envy Jurgen Klopp having to make a decision over who plays at right-back on Sunday.

Bradley hasn’t put a foot wrong over five consecutive starts now and topped it off with a quite magnificent display last night.

Buzzing off the back of a first goal for the club, he has momentum to carry into the game at the Emirates. It’s also worth noting that the Northern Irishman came on against Arsenal in the FA Cup and completely locked down Gabriel Martinelli.

That should perhaps come into Klopp’s thinking when he’s drawing up his team for the weekend.

Having said all of that, the smart money should still be on Trent Alexander-Arnold being given the nod. The 25-year-old may just be coming back to fitness, but he’s a game-changer for the Reds.

Take that FA Cup tie at the start of January for example. Bradley may have put in an impressive cameo, but Alexander-Arnold ran the whole show all game.

Arsenal have actually been backed to beat Liverpool on Sunday. But a win for Klopp’s team would put them eight points clear of the Gunners. They need their strongest side out and they have to go for it.

As good as Bradley has been, you have to say that Trent is in that strongest XI any which way. Factoring in that Conor has also played a lot of football recently, we’d back Liverpool’s No.66 to return on Sunday. But let’s see.
