Alan Shearer has commended the performances of two Liverpool players against Arsenal on Sunday.
The Reds pulled a fantastic result from the fire at the Emirates to record an impressive 2-0 victory. On commentary for the BBC, Shearer voiced his admiration for several Liverpool players, including Ibrahima Konate.
But now speaking to the Rest Is Football podcast in the cold light of the day after the night before, the Newcastle legend has singled out two more Reds for praise.
“They [Liverpool] were much better in the second-half,” Shearer began. “Did you see when he brought the two youngsters [Conor Bradley and Bobby Clark] on in the last 10 or 15 minutes Jurgen Klopp?! It was 0-0 at the time and I thought both of them were superb when they came on.
“I think there was an element of ‘we’ll just go for it here’. They didn’t want the draw because that would’ve messed their winter break weekend up, because they’d have had to go into a replay. I think Klopp thought ‘I’m just going to go for it here’ and it was brilliant.

Shearer hails Liverpool youngsters
This isn’t just empty praise from Shearer. Both Bradley and Clark were genuinely excellent when they came on against Arsenal.
There would have likely been a few Liverpool supporters a little worried at the sight of the young pair coming on at 0-0 with 15 minutes left.
But Bradley and Clark but those fear to bed with a couple of really notable cameos.
The right-back was perhaps the more impressive of the two. But having seen Trent Alexander-Arnold beaten a couple of times by the trickery of Gabriel Martinelli, Bradley simply shut the Brazilian down.

He got forward well too, but it was at the back that the 20-year-old really caught the eye. It was maybe the first real sign of why Liverpool are reportedly so excited about Bradley.
Clark meanwhile kept things ticking along in midfield and picked up a much-needed booking for a very cynical foul on Declan Rice.
Nobody wants to be celebrating fouls or dirty play. But the tactical nature of the 18-year-old’s yellow card was actually impressive. With Rice on the counter for Arsenal, Clark had to bring him down. For such a young player to take one for the team like that made a lot of people sit up.
Both Bradley and Clark have looked like excellent prospects for a while now. Sunday was by far the best representation of that so far. Onwards, lads!
