There was plenty for Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp to be delighted about from his team this evening.
It looked like it could be a tricky evening in store for the Reds. With Chelsea in good form, it was set to be a real test of Liverpool’s credentials.
In the end, it didn’t really happen that way. Klopp’s side battered the Blues, ending up 4-1 winners. At the heart of it all was young Conor Bradley, who had a hand in three Liverpool goals, including scoring his first ever goal for the club.
And in his interview with TNT Sports after the game, it was Bradley who received the praise of his manager.
“He is incredible. Incredible boy. Wonderful,” Klopp raved. “I don’t hear but people tell me the crowd was singing his name. It’s great. He is flying at the moment. He is working hard, he’s a good footballer and it’s helped us so much it’s incredible.
“Think back in the summer and a few people said we need another right-back but we were very positive about Conor in that moment. And now a real big step has been made. That’s really important because with all the injuries we had we cannot put that string of results together when these boys don’t show up. I’m really pleased for him.”
Klopp raves about Bradley show
What more can you say about Bradley this evening. The Northern Irishman was the apple of TNT Sports commentator Ally McCoist’s eye all evening, and rightly so.
Much has been expected of the young man for a number of years at Liverpool. So, in some ways, his emergence shouldn’t be a major surprise.
But few who talked him up could have predicted that Bradley would have such an impact.
Having played just two Premier League games, the right-back has a goal and three assists. That’s quite remarkable. It really is.

Throw in that Bradley also set one up during Sunday’s win over Norwich in the FA Cup, and you really have to say, ‘fair play.’
With Trent Alexander-Arnold returning to full fitness, it feels unlikely that Bradley will continue for Sunday’s trip to Arsenal.
But so good was his performance tonight that it will be a genuine question for Klopp to answer.
That won’t matter to Bradley right now. Tonight, he’ll surely go to sleep with the Kop chanting his name ringing loud in his ears. What a night for the young man and what a player we’ve got on our hands.
