Liverpool have enjoyed a really strong month in January. Even though it didn’t seem like they would at the start. With so many injuries and Mohamed Salah away at the African Cup of Nations – there was a lot of doom and gloom at the start of the month.

However, in the end the Reds cruised through their problems. And now even Salah should be on his way back soon after he recovers from his injury – with Egypt eliminated from the tournament. All of that will be a huge boost. But more important will be the performances of Liverpool throughout the month.

The Reds just kept winning this month, and so many players stepped up to make their mark. One of the biggest winners of the month was definitely Conor Bradley. He came in with little experience to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold, and did it sublimely.

Phil Thompson on Conor Bradley

Speaking on talkSPORT, former Liverpool defender and manager Phil Thompson signalled out Conor Bradley for special praise. The Northern Irish international now has three assists in his last three games, and has really impressed over the course of the month.

Thompson says he has been amazed by his impact in the team.

“Young [Conor] Bradley was absolutely stunning again. He was probably man of the match again like against Fulham in the first leg [of the Carabao Cup],” Thompson said.

Thompson is right, and we would even go a step further. Given Bradley’s form this month, he may even deserve a nomination for Player of the Month for Liverpool. He’d be a great candidate for it. The way he has stepped-up and covered for Alexander-Arnold is a real testament of his quality.
