Joe Gomez has just one word to describe Conor Bradley’s performance against Chelsea last night

Conor Bradley is the name on everybody’s lips this morning after a wonderful display for Liverpool last night.

The 20-year-old had already been in excellent form heading into the game, stepping in brilliantly for the injured Trent Alexander-Arnold. But against Chelsea, Bradley really arrived.

A goal and two assists to his name doesn’t even do justice to just how impressive the Northern Irishman was. It’s hard to convey through stats or anything like that, but Bradley just looks the part for Liverpool. He’s made the step up look so easy.

Obviously, this has led to widespread praise for the right-back. Jurgen Klopp has been effusive, while the Anfield crowd even coined a chant in his honour.

And this feeling has also spread to the youngster’s teammates. Joe Gomez was good on the opposite flank to Bradley and he took to Instagram following the game to praise his younger colleague.

“Unreal,” said Gomez, having tagged Conor in on his post. He certainly was.

Bradley takes the plaudits

For some youngsters, a display like the one Bradley put in last night would represent the highlight of a career.

How often do we see a talented academy player burst onto the scene with one or two top performances before fading off into obscurity.

But you get the feeling that that is not going to happen with Bradley.

The peak he’s currently hitting comes on the back of a good body of work already. That was his 14th appearance for the Liverpool senior side, with his debut coming back in 2021.

Last year he played 53 times for Bolton and was crowned their Player of the Year in League One. It’s also worth pointing out that Bradley is a full international, with 13 caps for Northern Ireland to his name. In short, he isn’t a flash in the pan.

The interesting thing now will be whether Klopp keeps his No.84 in the team for Sunday.

If last night was a big game, then the weekend is arguably even bigger, as Liverpool head to London to take on Arsenal. A win would see them stretch their lead over the Gunners to eight points.

With Alexander-Arnold now fit, it would feel like the natural move to bring him back for this one. But then again, how can you ignore a display like Bradley’s last night. Tough decision ahead for Jurgen.
