There’s a ‘big chance’ that reported Liverpool transfer target Sofyan Amrabat is set for a move to England.
That’s according to Moroccan journalist Amine El Amri. Speaking to TalkSPORT, El Amri claimed that the Fiorentina man could soon be strutting his stuff in the Premier League.
“I think there’s a big chance that he might go there [the Premier League]. But everybody will have to wait until the summer because Fiorentina don’t seem to want to sell in the next couple of weeks,” said the journalist, before praising Amrabat.
“I think he’s a fantastic player. His brother is Nordin Amrabat, and I’m sure you guys saw in Russia that this guy was a raging bull. But Sofyan Amrabat is a great footballer in addition to being a raging bull. I’m trying to be as objective as I can but I think he’s been the best midfielder in this World Cup.

“I have nothing but respect for guys like Luka Modric, Marcelo Brozovic and Rodrigo De Paul and many others but I think he’s been absolutely the best player in midfield in this World Cup.”
Hard to disagree – Amrabat has been immense. As a result, suggestions that Liverpool could pounce have continued to gather pace.
Liverpool ‘fall in love’ with Amrabat
Amrabat has been one of the real stars of this winter’s tournament in Qatar. With Morocco being the story of the tournament, he has perhaps become their poster boy.
Hard-working and diligent, he has typified the resolute mentality that has taken the Atlas Lions into the semi finals. As they prepare to take on France tomorrow, their World Cup dream remains very much alive.

That could actually be bad news for Liverpool, who’s interest in Amrabat reportedly dates back to before the competition started. The 26-year-old’s displays during it are sure to have earned him new admirers, which could price the Reds out of a move.
According to Relevo though, Liverpool are actually now more determined than ever to get their man. If they were monitoring him before, they are now claimed to have ‘fallen in love’ with Amrabat over the last few weeks.
They aren’t the only ones though, clearly. In terms of a move to the Premier League, Tottenham Hotspur appear to be the Reds main challengers. Meanwhile, Sofyan’s brother – Nordin, once of Watford – has pleaded with PSG to sign his younger sibling.
With his family keen on a move to Paris and his agent openly fielding calls from other clubs, maybe Liverpool will see fit not to get pulled in here. But should they push ahead with their interest, Amrabat looks to be worth the fight.
