The seven Liverpool players who may now have played their last game for the club

There are seven players that could leave Liverpool this summer. Here’s a look at who might be departing now the season is done.

Liverpool’s season ended last night with defeat in the UEFA Champions League final. With that comes the summer transfer window – and it could be a big one.

The Reds want to rejig their squad in order to compete for every trophy once again next season. But that’s easier said than done as several players have big question marks over their futures with the club.

Mohamed Salah is one of those. His contract expires in 2023 but the Egyptian did confirm this week that he’ll remain with Liverpool next season. The same can’t be said for several others, however.

So here are seven Liverpool players that could leave the club this summer.

7 Liverpool players could leave this summer

Adrian

The Spanish goalkeeper admitted this week that he’s not sure what’ll happen this summer. He has one more year on his deal but a lack of games over 2021/22 could mean a departure from Liverpool.

Adrian will ‘evaluate’ things over pre-season.

UEFA MUST STOP! NEW CHAMPIONS LEAGUE COULD RUIN FOOTBALL

Roberto Firmino

Firmino’s deal expires in 2023 and unless he signs a new one, Liverpool could decide to sell for a transfer fee. This is a difficult one to judge. We imagine the Reds will keep the Brazilian around – and that’s what he wants to do.

But his lack of games this season could tempt a sale.

Naby Keita

Keita is in a similar situation to Firmino. We don’t expect Liverpool to let him go, especially after Jurgen Klopp said this was his best season for the club. But like Firmino, we just can’t say for sure until that contract is sorted.

The Guinean is still in his prime and could fetch a decent fee. While he think he’ll remain at Anfield, it’s far from certain.

Sadio Mané

This is the most interesting of the lot – and, potentially, the most devastating. Mané’s deal expires in 2023 and there’s serious talk right now that Bayern Munich believe they’re getting him this summer.

Mané has been incredible this season and we’d hate to see him leave. We should get our answer in the coming days.

James Milner

Milner’s contract actually expires at the end of June and he still hasn’t signed a new one. Unless that happens, he’s off.

We would be surprised if Liverpool let that happen, though. Milner has put in some great performances this season and we don’t see the logic in allowing his deal to just expire.

Divock Origi

Origi is the only one on this list that we can definitively say will leave Liverpool this summer. The Belgian’s deal expires and it appears that AC Milan will sign him. It’s a blow, of course, as Origi made such an impact at this club.

At the same time, it’s entirely understandable. We wish him every possible success.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Oxlade-Chamberlain moves into the final year of his contract this summer and we can’t imagine another is on its way. His lack of games this season, too, suggests it’s in his best interest to move on.

And that’s a shame. Oxlade-Chamberlain has had some fine moments this season, let alone in his Anfield career. Liverpool just don’t appear to have room for him anymore.
