'All you want to hear': Sadio Mané promises 'special' announcement this weekend

Sadio Mané says he promises a ‘special’ announcement on his Liverpool future this weekend. The forward remains coy about it all.

Sadio Mané says we’re not getting an announcement on his Liverpool future until after the Champions League final and he’s sticking to that. But it apparently doesn’t mean he won’t tease things.

The Reds’ no.10 has one more season left on his contract and he’s yet to commit to anything more. On top of that, Bayern Munich are reportedly circling for his signature as a Robert Lewandowski replacement.

Up to now, Mané has been remarkably coy on things. He said on Wednesday, for instance, that he won’t talk about his future at all until after Liverpool face Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League final.

That’s in stark contrast to Roberto Firmino, who very openly wants to remain with Liverpool.

But Mané did crack a little this week as he promises a ‘special’ answer after the final. We’re not entirely sure what to make of it, to be honest.

“I am fully focused on Saturday’s game, that is the answer I must give before the final,” said Mané, per the BBC.

“But come back to me on Saturday and I will give you the best answer you want to hear, for sure. It’s special. I will give you all you want to hear then.”

Well, the only way it’s an answer that we ‘want to hear’ is if he’s staying. But we can also see how Mané would view him announcing that he’s off to Bayern as ‘special’.

So basically, we don’t know what to think. It does sound like he’s hinting at staying as that’s really the only positive outcome for the people asking. In fact, it would be quite strange to tease an announcement that you’re leaving right before the Champions League final.

We’ll think positively, then.
