Gareth Southgate has named his England squad for qualifiers away to the Czech Republic and Bulgaria. The Side features 3 Liverpool players. The 3 Lions are set to face Czech Republic on the 11th of October and visit Bulgaria on the 14th. England have been in solid form in their Euros qualifiers, having won all 4 of their opening fixtures. We take a look at the Reds involved in the squad.
The Liverpool captain is a regular feature in Southgate’s side and has 53 senior caps for his country. He brings Liverpool’s aggressive midfield play to the team, quickly and sharply recycling possession, firing passes into his onrushing fullbacks. At times he has found it difficult to adapt to the players around him who aren’t used to playing at such a high tempo.
JoGo keeps his place in the England squad and has a strong claim to a starting berth after a disastrous game for the 3 Lions defence against Kosovo. Harry Maguire and Michael Keane put in an awful display against the Euro’s newbies, conceding 3 goals due to some calamitous defending.

The Scouser in our team surely has to be first choice for his country now. Kyle Walker has yet again been left out of Southgate’s side which must give Trent great hope of claiming the right back spot as his own. If Southgate was feeling brave, he would employ Alexander-Arnold in a central role, much like Germany have been doing with Joshua Kimmich. The Scouser came through the Liverpool youth academy as a centre mid and has all the attributes to succeed there.
