Liverpool decided to part ways with Arne Slot last weekend and have now appointed Andoni Iraola as their new coach.
Slot was sacked after losing 12 Premier League matches in one season and finishing fifth in the Premier League.
Iraola’s appointment followed less than a week after the Dutchman’s exit, but despite speculation, it is now being reported that Jurgen Klopp had no role in the process.

Jurgen Klopp not involved in Liverpool manager change
It was suggested last week that the Merseyside outfit ‘asked Jurgen Klopp for advice who could be the new Liverpool coach’.
Given he spent nine years at Anfield and had much success, that could have been an option.
Slot’s style of play was almost the complete opposite of the German’s, and getting back to the Liverpool way was a must for whichever manager came in.
After seeing how he fared at Bournemouth, it is clear that Iraola’s way of thinking is much more similar to Klopp’s than to the Reds’ last boss.
However, a report from The Athletic has now said that ‘while there was social media speculation over a possible romantic return for Jurgen Klopp, that was never on the table and neither was his opinion sought over the process’.

Surely if the bid was big enough they'd have to at least think about it…
Jurgen Klopp’s verdict on Andoni Iraola
While the former Liverpool manager may not have had any role in helping FSG pick a new manager, Klopp has spoken about Iraola in the past.
Most notably, he highlighted how the Spanish tactician had improved striker Dominic Solanke a great deal.
Speaking in 2023, he said: “I didn’t know a lot about him [Iraola]. The start of the season, obviously the results, if you don’t take a proper look at Bournemouth it can happen.
“But they turned it around, wow. That’s real coaching. He found a way to set this team up. They have a really good mix, they play football, they find direction in the right moments, they use Dom Solanke in a sensational way.
“The support he gets from the centre, from the wings. The way they defend, really good, really compact.”
