UFC star and Liverpool native Paddy The Baddy has weighed in on the decision to sack Arne Slot.

Slot was dismissed on Saturday afternoon after a dire season that saw Liverpool finish with 12 Premier League losses to their name.

Paddy The Baddy has now slammed the Dutchman and made it clear he wants Luis Enrique to be the club’s next manager.

How happy are you that Arne Slot is leaving Liverpool?!

Paddy The Baddy wants Luis Enrique at Liverpool

The UFC fighter was speaking while attending the 2025/26 Champions League final between Arsenal and PSG.

Enrique’s side won the competition last season, and Paddy thinks the Spaniard should step down if the Ligue 1 outfit were to win it for a second campaign in a row.

Speaking to CBS Sports about Slot’s exit, he said: “It’s been a long time coming. Personally, I think he should have got sacked when we got beat 4-1 at home by PSV. A team like Liverpool can’t be getting beat at home 4-1 by a Dutch side. It just shouldn’t be happening; we’re a bigger football team.

“So it’s better late than never, but I think it’s a bit late, to be honest.”

CBS pundit Jamie Carragher then asked Paddy who he wants as the next manager, to which he replied: “I want Luis Enrique to win tonight and then step down at the end of the game from being PSG manager because he’s done the treble twice and then be like ‘oh I want a new challenge’. Because we are a challenge at the minute.”

Is Andoni Iraola the best option to replace Arne Slot? If not, who would you appoint?

Are Liverpool interested in Luis Enrique?

Early in 2025/26, during a run of nine defeats in 12, which included that 4-1 PSV loss, it was said that the Reds want Enrique to replace Slot in the long-term.

However, the noise around Liverpool’s next manager following the sacking of the 47-year-old suggests he may not be in the running.

Instead, Andoni Iraola is actually viewed as the favourite to take the job at Anfield.

Should a deal for the Spaniard, who got Bournemouth into the Europa League this month, not come to pass, Sebastian Hoeness and Pierre Sage are options for the Reds.
