Mohamed Salah is now less than a month away from his final ever appearance as a Liverpool player.

Salah will leave for free at the end of the season despite having another 12 months left on his contract.

The Liverpool legend, who was crucial to the club’s most successful period in the 21st century, has now spoken about his legacy and how he wants fans and players to remember him as someone who was always there for them and gave ‘everything’ he had.

Mohamed Salah says he ‘gave everything’ to Liverpool

Speaking on SuperSport’s YouTube channel, he said: “I want players to remember I was always there for them.

“I always there to be professional, first one in, probably last one out. Just be a good role model for them and try to help them when they need me, because this is very important for me.

“I gave everything to the club, and this is the thing I want fans to remember all the time. Don’t want them to remember, oh ‘he was lazy here or there’. They know this club’s been my whole life. So I want them to remember I gave it everything I had.”

Salah, of course, hit out at Slot and the club earlier this season in that infamous post-Leeds United interview.

However, he returned to the team once the AFCON was over and has been a regular starter since.

It remains to be seen if the issue with Slot had any bearing on Salah leaving a year earlier than planned.

But Liverpool fans now know they have just a few games left to witness the 33-year-old in action.

Mohamed Salah injury latest

However, Salah missed training earlier this week, and it is still not clear if he will be back in time to face Chelsea on Saturday, May 9.

Slot last gave an update on the winger before Manchester United and in a boost for fans, confirmed he will be back before the season comes to a close.

The Liverpool manager said: “He’s always working incredibly hard during the season when he’s fit, but also when he’s injured, to be back as soon as possible, and that’s what he tries now as well.

“Usually, he’s back earlier than other players after a minor injury because he has a minor injury. So we expect him to be back in the final part of the season, but not for Sunday.”
