Liverpool have a new injury concern ahead of Saturday’s clash against Chelsea after Ibrahima Konate missed Wednesday’s training session.
The Reds have been without some key players in recent weeks, having already lost Alisson Becker, Mohamed Salah, Hugo Ekitike and Alexander Isak.
While Ekitike is set to be missing for months, Alisson, Salah and Isak are all expected to play again before the end of the season.

However, as journalist Vinny O’Connor reported live from Liverpool’s training ground on Wednesday, the trio are all yet to return, and have now been joined by Konate.
What’s the latest on Liverpool’s injuries?
Although they were depleted for Sunday’s clash with Manchester United, Liverpool ended up giving a good account of themselves in the second-half at Old Trafford.
Nevertheless, they would love to have their big hitters back, and there had been hope that both Alisson and Isak at the very least would return to face Chelsea.
Reporting for Sky Sports, though, O’Connor revealed that the duo were still not out on the grass on Wednesday, with Konate, Salah and Giorgi Mamardashvili all missing too.

“The list of absentees has been added to because there’s no Ibrahima Konate out there at the moment,” said the journalist.
“He was substituted late in the game against Manchester United, and it could be a case of managing his workload, but at the moment no Konate out there with the rest of his teammates.
“There’s still no Mo Salah back,” O’Connor added. “They are still hoping he’ll be back before the end of the season, the prognosis looks good but still not back in full training. Alisson is still not out with the rest of the goalkeepers either. Arne Slot said there was a chance he could’ve been back for the Manchester United game but he hadn’t trained, and is still not out there.
“No Alisson, no Mamardashvili either, he was injured in the Merseyside Derby. He’s still not joining in training and still no Alexander Isak either.”

“It was described as a minor groin injury that he [Isak] picked up ahead of the game with Manchester United and Arne Slot is hopeful that he will be back to face Chelsea, but at the moment he’s not out there training.”
Will anyone be back against Chelsea?
With less than three days to go until Liverpool’s match with Chelsea, Alisson, Isak and Konate are now facing a race against time to be fit.
Salah had always been unlikely to make it in time, with Mamardashvili also seemingly in line to return against Aston Villa as well.

Alisson will potentially be the biggest miss, with Liverpool seeing the deficiencies in Freddie Woodman’s game against United, after the third-choice played a starring role the week before.
As a goalkeeper, Alisson may need less training in order to be ready for the Saturday game, and there should still be a chance that he can make it. Isak is perhaps less likely, and for Konate it remains to be seen what, if any, is the issue.
Arne Slot will no doubt be asked about the state of his squad before facing Chelsea as he faces the press on Friday, so supporters may need to wait a little longer before having the picture cleared up.
