Mohamed Salah has taken aim at Arne Slot in a remarkable interview after a third successive game starting on the Liverpool bench.

The Egyptian did not even get on the pitch against Leeds, leading to suggestions of a potential rift with the Reds’ head coach.

Salah will leave for AFCON on December 15th, meaning he is available for Liverpool‘s next two matches.

What do you make of Salah’s reaction at full-time?

But in some explosive quotes to Norwegian television following the Reds’ late collapse at Leeds, Salah has suggested that the Premier League match against Brighton on December 13th could be his last for the club.

Rumours have been swirling that Salah could be heading to Saudi Arabia, and after his comments at Elland Road on Saturday, few would be surprised if that now comes to fruition.

Mohamed Salah says he’s been ‘thrown under the bus’ by Liverpool

Salah has been in disastrous form for Liverpool this season, with his place on the bench initially justified.

However, with his teammates in equally bad form, the 33-year-old spoke to VG to claim that he has been made a scapegoat by Slot.

“I can’t believe it, I’m very disappointed. I’ve done so much for this club, everyone can see that over the years, especially last season,” he said. “To be on the bench, I don’t know why. I feel like the club is throwing me under the bus. That’s how I feel.”

“I said many times before that I have a good relationship with the manager, suddenly we don’t have a relationship, I don’t know why.  It’s not acceptable to me, to be honest. I don’t know why it always happens to me. ‘We throw Mo under the bus, because he’s the problem.’ I don’t think I’m the problem.”

If that were not enough from Salah, he then goes on to strongly hint that he is thinking next Saturday’s game may be his last for Liverpool.

“I called my mother yesterday, you didn’t know I wasn’t going to start today, I knew that. I said come to the Brighton game, it doesn’t matter if I play or not, I’m going to enjoy it,” he said.

“We’ll see what happens, in my mind I’m going to enjoy it anyway, because I don’t know what’s going to happen anyway. The game will be at Anfield, so that will be my goodbye before I go to AFCON.”

Salah’s comments could push Arne Slot over the edge

This is a quite incredible move from Salah and is not something you would expect from a senior player of his ilk.

His form has been woeful all season long, and he cannot argue that he should be in the current XI based on form.

The Egyptian has some strong points about his past achievements with the club, but that counts for little in the situation Liverpool find themselves in.

The fallout from Salah’s comments will be huge, and it could now be a case of whether the club back the player or the manager.

If the chips fall on Salah’s side, Slot could be sacked. Should the Liverpool owners side with their coach, Saturday could well be the end of the Egyptian King at Anfield.
