Liverpool are heading towards another huge summer transfer window, and the early signs suggest it could be every bit as chaotic as expected.
There are major decisions to make in almost every area of the squad, from the future of Alisson Becker to the search for a new elite forward. Mohamed Salah’s exit has changed the whole dynamic of Liverpool’s planning, while questions remain over several senior players already at the club.
Some stories feel more realistic than others, but the direction is clear. Liverpool are going to be busy, and a number of high-profile names are dominating the conversation before the window even opens.

Liverpool transfer news
The biggest update concerns Liverpool’s number one.
Alisson has reportedly reached an agreement with Juventus over a three-year contract, with his camp now working towards a ‘smooth separation’ from Liverpool.
Liverpool still hold the cards after extending his contract until 2027. Still, this now feels like a realistic situation rather than a distant possibility.
There is also the dream scenario involving Kylian Mbappe.
The Frenchman is facing growing scrutiny at Real Madrid, and if the situation ever became genuinely unstable, Liverpool would have to see themselves as one of the few clubs capable of making a move. It would be hugely expensive, but as a Salah replacement, there is no bigger statement signing.

Liverpool have long admired Mbappe, and the player has previously spoken positively about the club. A deal still feels very difficult, but the argument is that if he ever leaves Madrid early, Anfield could be one of the most attractive destinations left in Europe.
Curtis Jones is another name to watch.
Fabrizio Romano has claimed Jones is open to the Inter Milan project. Liverpool will decide the valuation, but the midfielder is reportedly interested in the idea of playing in Italy.
That would be a difficult call. Jones has not always been a guaranteed starter, but Liverpool already need more midfield depth, not less.

Virgil van Dijk has also been linked with interest from Galatasaray.
The Turkish side are said to be preparing a personal approach, with president Dursun Ozbek expected to be involved. Even so, this feels like one of the less likely moves on the list.
Van Dijk has spoken repeatedly about his love for Anfield, and it would be a major surprise if Liverpool allowed both him and Alisson to leave in the same summer.
Finally, there’s news on Cody Gakpo.
Liverpool are not expected to sell Gakpo despite previous talk of interest from Bayern Munich. That makes sense given his ability to cover several attacking roles, especially with Federico Chiesa expected to leave.
