Arne Slot tried out something new against Inter Milan and it worked a treat, with this perhaps the start of something big.
The Reds have been in a terrible run of form as of late, and with Mohamed Salah kicking off so publicly, Slot was under a lot of pressure to get things right in the Champions League.
This is exactly what he did as he tried a new system that saw him deploy a diamond 4-4-2 formation, with Liverpool looking much more comfortable throughout.
Who was your Man of the Match during Liverpool’s brilliant 1-0 win over Inter Milan?
Certain players thrived more than others, but there is one star who did not even play who might just come into his own, with Reds fans excited to see how he now gets on.
Liverpool fans cannot wait to see Jeremie Frimpong in this new system
Jeremie Frimpong has not had the start to life at Liverpool that he would have hoped, with injuries plaguing any sort of progress he could make.
He is set to return very soon, though, and it might just be at the perfect time with this new formation as it could suit his style of play.
Liverpool fans seem to think so at least, with many taking to social media to share their thoughts.
One fan wrote: “This system screams for a Jeremie Frimpong,” while another added: “We saw how effective Bradley was, Jeremie will absolutely cook!”
A third wrote: “Can’t wait. He fed Boniface [at Bayer Leverkusen’. He’ll feed Isak,” with another saying: “I’ve been saying this since the beginning of the season.”
A fifth supporter said: “Bradley did great in the role but yeah, Frimpong gonna be trouble for opponents!”
Another fan is already thinking about the full potential of the team, saying: “Imagine Wirtz for Macca & Frimpong for Gomez,” while a seventh said: “Definitely potential for a future without Salah if the club choose to go down that route.”
A final fan summed Frimpong’s potential up nicely, saying: “Unleash him!”

Milos Kerkez will also thrive in Liverpool’s new system
As well as Frimpong being able to thrive due to being able to utilise his attacking threat, Milos Kerkez can do the same down the other side.
Both, as long as they also remain switched on defensively, can go forward with a lot more freedom as the midfield is more compact and able to cover them.
Bradley got a lot of joy down the right-hand side despite barely playing much at all in the game, showing how overlapping runs could be key to the way they play.
Kerkez and Frimpong have had slow starts but this might just be the change they needed more than most, with it now going to be very interesting to see how they get on.
