Florian Wirtz got himself two assists against Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday evening, with the midfielder claiming that he can become even better for Liverpool.
Many questions have been asked about the midfielder since his Anfield switch, with fans and pundits wondering whether he was even worth Liverpool buying in the first place.
However, after Wirtz’s recent performance against Frankfurt, it’s clear that the Reds have a real talent on their hands and that things can only get better from here.
The attacking midfielder has been used across the entirety of the pitch by Arne Slot this season, with the Dutchman looking to get the best out of his £100 million+ man.
And, although he was one of the best number 10s in the world last term, it feels like he’s performed much better for Liverpool when used on the wing, especially after his performance on Wednesday.

Although his assists weren’t anything groundbreaking, the space he created both on and off the ball, as well as the chances he created, were second to none.
And, while speaking to DAZN in quotes relayed by the Liverpool ECHO, Wirtz may have excited Liverpool fans even more after admitting that he can perform even better than he did against the Bundesliga outfit.
“I know that I can do much, much more,” he said.
“I think the second half was really good, and from everyone else too, and so I’m satisfied that we’ve won today and that I finally have a goal involvement.”

Although you’d expect a £116 million player to be one of the best on your team, that hasn’t always been the case for Wirtz this season.
The midfielder has had a tough time of it since joining Liverpool, but after what he said when the game ended, it’s certainly a cause for excitement among the Reds’ fanbase.
Wirtz has created some of Liverpool’s best chances this season, with players such as Alexander Isak and Mohamed Salah the ones letting him down by not putting them into the back of the net.
Since his Merseyside switch, he’s been rather unlucky, but after his performance against Frankfurt, it feels like the tides could finally be turning.
While playing for Bayer Leverkusen, he already proved how good he could become, and if he can reach that level for Liverpool, they’ll be set for the next 10 years or so.
The Reds’ fanbase has a lot to be excited about this season, and if Wirtz can get back to his best soon, it’ll certainly be a cause for celebration.
